PIL came into the Nigeria market in September 2000 under the Agency of Blue Funnel, a division of Hull Blyth Nigeria Limited.
PIL Nigeria was established in August 2007 as Pacific International Lines and took a majority shareholding in a new agency business in a bid to strengthen the brand as well as maintain closer link with the Principal in Singapore.
The company has gone from strength to strength since its inception and has maintained a good market share in the shipping trade in Nigeria even till date.
Starting with staff strength of 38 persons, with 17,500 TEU imports and 3,150 TEU exports in its first year, PIL now has over 70 members of staff with 70,000 TEU imports and 9,000 export p.a. currently. Its current ports coverage in Nigeria is: Apapa, Tincan-Island, Warri, Calabar, Onne and Port Harcourt. The Onne branch opened October 2009 while its MPV (Multi-Purpose Vessel) Service started May 2010. We are well represented by full time members of staff in Kano, Onitsha and other eastern regions.
PIL will continue to develop the existing network connecting Nigeria to potentially new markets and build on her core values which are: Relationship-centric, Integrity, Flexibility, Result-Oriented, Collective-vision and Entrepreneurship.
Our Promise is to keep our customers satisfied because we never forget who you are.
