Ministry of Finance memo 12.2.1

“Federal Ministry of Finance-Revised Import and Export Guidelines

Dear Esteemed Customer,

Please be informed that the federal Ministry of Finance will be implementing amended Import and Export
regulations with effective date ‘Shipped on-board 1st of January 2018’.

Based on the outcome from the recently held sensitization workshop on these revised guidelines the government
of Nigeria has approved the policy which requires that all containerised import cargo destined for Nigeria
must be palletized.

This requirement is applicable for all containerised cargo bound for Nigeria departing from port of Loading
as from the 1st of January 2018.

We respectfully advised that you kindly comply with the new directive as failure to comply would result in the
reshipment of your container and any penalty associated with non-compliance shall be borne by the local
consignee. Please ensure that you advise your Shippers.

Further directives and guidelines on pallestisation of containerised import cargo have been requested from
the Federal Ministry of Finance/ Nigerian Customs Service and will be posted on the PIL Nigeria website.

You are also encouraged to approach the Shippers Council for further clarification.

Thank you.

Yours faithfully,
PIL Nigeria Ltd”
